NFL Daily Digest: News and Rumour

There were a load of roster moves last night as the trade deadline passed and Kyle Orton was the hottest Waiver wire commodity after several teams lost their starting QB's to injury.

Read on after the break for your daily morning update on news from around the NFL.

The biggest news of the day was that the Chiefs claimed Kyle Orton off waivers ahead of Chicago to replace Matt Cassell

But Tyler Palko will start against the Steelers this weekend

It will be interesting to see how this shakes out for the Chiefs, especially with the Broncos as divisional rivals.

The Bears fans expected the team to go in for Kyle Orton, but got Luke McCown instead. What a horrible surprise...

The Texans signed Kellen Clemens to be Matt Leinarts backup while Matt Schaub is out.

Fred Jackson will miss the rest of the season after being put on IR by the Bills.

Jackson will be replaced in Buffalo by Tashard Choice, who the Bills claimed off waivers

The Jets tried to motivate Mark Sanchez by giving Mark Brunell more first team reps

Bengals signed Bruce Davis, no one really cares...

St Louis was saved from blackout by Bud Light. Expect to see an advert about that.

The Giants injury problems continue as tackle Will Beatty has a detached retina.

And that's all she wrote!
